Roentgenmeter DP-5A
Technical characteristics. Impressions of operation

DP-5 - undoubtedlythe most mass Soviet military radiometer - roentgenmeter (ionometer). It was developed in 50th years of the last century and, in various modifications, has successfully lived up to now. The version with a letter “A” – was naturally the very first. Then would follow, “Б”, “B”, “M” -(medical) and the latest “BБ”.

Years wentby. On change to valves transistors, then microcircuits, then microcontrollers have come... And DP-5 remained such as was. Only small cosmetic changes. Have slightly changed the scheme, in the version "B" have removed the gammaradiation detector built in the case, and the case began to made of more modern and strong plastic, have rearranged control strontium-yttrium source from the device case on the case of the block of the detector. Have changed the tableton a cover inside (have entered there more sparing "norm of contamination"). Thats actually was all the innovations.

Technical characteristics. Impressions of operation.

This is the top model of Lviv’s Scientific and Production Private Enterprise (SPPE) "Sparing-Vist-Center". The device is focused on professional users, much can and costs a lot. It is recommended by the manufacturer to use in system of the radiating control of Ukraine, including: in divisions of radiochemical investigation of a civil defence, in armed forces, in services of a radiation control of atomic engineering, in medicine, in the nuclear physics.

Many people already had time to named MKS-U: "the reincarnation of legendary veteran the DP-5". During the given review I will try to find out is it true.

I was looked at Lvover’s from "Sparing-whist" working with delight for a long time, but purchase turning point, there was just one unique pinning of my old radiometer "Pripyat" in one of "dirty" places of the Chornobyl Zone. I remember, how we with Evgenie Samoilov in thoughtfulness contemplated the empty screen of "Pripyat" with “one” in the senior category (pinning of the device), listened to hysterical trills of its sound signalling device and with a clever kind, on frequency of squeal and speed of leaving in pinning, gave out various figures of a prospective gamma background :).

How many there was? I do not know. A limit of measurement by EDR (exposition dose rate) at radiometer "Pripyat" - 20 mR/h. All that I can tell definitely - there was more than 20 mR/h.

Dosimeter "IRIZ-1" - the exotic device of an unknown origin.

On a wave of a "Postchernobyl" radiophobia, consumer dosimeters did not produce unless meat-packing plants (and I am not very assured in this :). Against as now would tell, "brands", such as "Pripyat", "Bella", "Anri", there were also tens small-scale devices of little-known manufacturers.

IRIZ-1 - one of them.
