Novoshepelychi – rather big village which stuck to edge of a city Pripyat and has been stretched along bank of the river Pripyat.

Novoshepelychi – rather big village which stuck to edge of a city Pripyat and has been stretched along bank of the river Pripyat (though will be more true quite the contrary – the city Pripyat is on the edge of the village - it after all will be more senior then a city). All that I was managed to learnt about it, it that "on November, 20th, 1943 around the bottom watercourse of Pripyat our armies have seized the regional centre of the Kiev area - NOVO-SHEPELYCHI"... And that, after failure on ChNPP the experimental farm on studying of influence of the radioactive environment on a life and posterity of the several bulls and cows, caught nearby here, has been organized. But, whether the result of these researches was not consolatory, whether for some other reasons but a farm have closed...
That’s, actually and all history that I know.
Now in village operates a station ASKRO - the automatic monitoring system of radiating situation (a small box with jalousie, introducing some dissonance with noise of supply fans in prevail around tranquility)... Also there live grandfather Savva and the grandmother Lena - unique inhabitants of a zone of 10 km.

We go as a part of expedition of editorial group of a site pripyat.com.
Having passed through all Pripyat we "climb" in a hole in a wire entanglement and on track, hardly guessed under snow, we "creep" to village (as it is a pity that we are not on BTR - armored personal carrier :). The most near to a city the house №28 along the Pripyatskaya street.

We move further ahead... Shop... The bus stop... 20 years without passengers and buses...

We approach on the village centre. At the left is very lovely small house, obvious 50 years of the last century (to me all the same very strange to write about 20th century as about the past :). This Novoshepelychi sewing studio. Yes... Not poor, probably, the village was Novoshepelychi...

We are in the village centre. To the right of road the Village Council, at the left two shops, a small public garden with a monument to Lenin (now available only a pedestal. Probably Ilyich was made in bronze... Only that can explain its absence now). Here even there was a separate shop with the goods for children! In store room of this shop on empty racks I have found the accurate cardboard tablet soldered in polyethylene "Object of disinfector Filonenko A.V." On an left bottom photo is visible small pool faced with a tile... Interestingly, whom there held? Small fishes? Turtles?

Here, near the fire-station we have left our cars and go to the house of grandfather Savva and the grandmother Lena. Here their court yard... All on the places, both the grandfather and the grandmother and their noisy "security" mongrels and troop of cats, resistant to the account, and laughable young mare resorted to a court yard (absolutely wild, uncontrollable and not adapted for work in household). Guys have chop firewood, gave to the grandfather and the grandmother a bag of gifts from Kiev, have listened complaints about small pension, general expensiveness and on long absence of an electricity (after visit of the president of Ukraine V.A.Jushchenko to the Obrazhej, to old people already have installed electrical equipment). In the award for firewood and products we have received as a gift the enormous bag of smoked Pripyat’s fishes. Such huge big fishes of gold-brown color, says, such prepare only in Chernobyl area - bake in an oven then fish becomes dry and friable. All restrained some time, telling to each other about strontium and caesium... And then, however have tried... It was very tasty :).

That’ all... The first our expedition to Novoshepelychi has come to an end. We come back to Pripyat.
