Pripyat. Hospital MSCh-126
Pripyat Hospital “MSCh-126” - Medico-Sanitary unit. The hospital is a vast complex occupying the largest part of the first micro-district of Pripyat. Anyone who has ever visited Pripyat will have seen the main building of the MSCh on Druzhby Narodov street -  “Friendship of the People street”. The building is adorned with huge letters on its roof that read: "Здоров'я народу - багатство країни" or “health of a people - riches of the country”. Here on April, 26th, 1986 the first disaster victims were delivered by ambulance: firemen and personnel of the ChNPP. Many of them had received deadly doses of external and internal irradiation, and had skin burns from beta radiation. After such doses, most did not survive; they still stood up, tried to joke about it, but the days or even hours of their lives were already numbered. All that medicine could do was to ease their deaths.

The Pripyat Hostels

Pripyat City hostels. The hostels are in a ruined condition from a combination of the evacuation, attempts to subsequently de-activate and disinfect the area, as well as the usual marauding. Nevertheless, the hostels keep a peculiar atmosphere of the Soviet era. The small and almost insignificant “debris” remaining from the time, still allows one to feel what it was like in the ‘80s. Most of the hostels are in microdistrict-1, the nearest micro-district to ChNPP, the very first area of the then new city on the river bank, Pripyat. City construction workers and personnel of ChNPP were first housed here after being moved from cabin-trailers at the Lesnoy settlement near the Janiv railway station.

Stalker-fest 2009
For the first time I have made the report not of a real Chernobyl Zone of Alienation, but from the Zone invented, game, virtual. No, it not the review of just published third part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. "Call of Pripyat", about it, it is already written enough (and it is quite probable that will write more), and I did not play in this game... Neither in the first, nor in the second... And I will not play in the third. I do not love computer games at all. It is the picture story about the first international festival Stalker-Fest 2009 which has passed on October, 3rd this year in the city of Kyiv, in the centre, on the “Maidan Nezalezhnosti". The festival has been dated for an publication of this third part of game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
